Laminated Plastic Plate with Gold-and-Silver Design

By Zahara Schatz especially for unusualties inc.

Zahara Schatz - Originally a painter, Miss Schatz "discovered” transparent plastic in 1943, and since then has devoted herself completely to design in this exciting new medium . . . with results which have won her acclaim and one-man shows in America’s modern museums in California, the Mid-west and New York. One of her plastic lamps recently won an award by the American Institute of Decorators.

Zahara Schatz does mostly special commissions for distinguished modern decorators and architects. But she designed this beautiful plate exclusively for us ... to offer you. Clear and delicate as glass, but with plastic’s near-indestructibility. The graceful design of gold and silver is safely impregnated between layers of transparent plastic . . . forms a precious looking but very practical plate for fruit, salad, desserts or a handsome decorative piece for a table or wall. Each plate will be a hand-made original by Miss Schatz. Plate is an irregular squarish shape, approximately 12" by 12". Only from us, only by mail, $30 postpaid.

Conversation Piece

This lovely medallion was an “invited” exhibit at the Detroit Institute of Arts’ Exhibition for Modern Living. Transparent laminated plastic, with an intriguing design of gold, silver and copper, it shows up beautifully against solid-colored fabrics. Comes with a narrow black velvet neck ribbon, but you can easily substitute other colors to harmonize with various costumes. Only from us, only by mail. $15 plus 20% Federal tax. Postpaid.
