Bezalel Schatz Talks On Father's Work
The gallery talk given by Bezalel Schatz Friday night atArsuna, where the work of his father, Boris Schatz, is being exhibited together with his own and that of his sister, Zahara Schatz was greatly enjoyed by his audience. Mr. Schatz, who was introduced by Alfred Morang, told the work of his father, founder of the Bezalel school of arts and crafts in Jerusalem, and known as the father of the Renaissance of Jewish art in Palestine.
Following Bezalel Schatz' talk Mr. Morang spoke briefly on modern art, and on the work of Bezalel and Zahara. He pointed out the manner in which, in Bezalel's paintings, color, form and texture have been used to express the subjective reactions of the artist.
The talks were followed by animated discussion of the part of the audience.
